About us

The central purpose of the Norfolk Christian Football League is to reach team-mates, colleagues and young people for Christ through an example set in playing and administering football. This is demonstrated in our Mission Statement and strap-line shown below.

Norfolk Christian Football League Mission Statement

Linking Church to Community through football

‘I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full’ John 10.10

We believe that

  • Following Jesus can be fun, and that this can be expressed in a game of football
  • We are all human and we will sometimes fall short of what we aspire to
  • Ultimately true life can only be found in a relationship with Jesus

We value

  • The church as a primary tool for bringing people into community
  • Relationships within and between teams, expressed on  Saturday morning and in other necessary meetings
  • The Football Association as the administrative body running football, and would always seek to be in a supportive and constructive relationship with them
  • All human beings irrespective of their gender, race, religion or sexual orientation
  • Integrity among players and managers, so that the way teams are administered and the way players play should live up to what they believe
  • The Bible as the basis for our beliefs and lifestyle

We prioritise

  • Attendance at Bi- monthly managers meetings
  • Efficient and prompt dealing with administrative matters
  • Prayer before all our games and within all our meetings
  • Annual team involvement in expression of practical  Christian community by, for example support of a team member/family, or in the local community or further afield

Saturday Morning Football

There are 7-a-side leagues for church-based teams at Under 10s, Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s. An 11-a-side league operates for Adult church-based teams. Matches take place on Saturday mornings between September and May, from 9am onwards, at  venues throughout Norwich and Norfolk.

Prayers are said before every match as well as the FA Respect Code of Conduct being adhered to. Throughout all the matches and other activities, God's grace and love should be demonstrated and there should be an atmosphere of encouragement.

If you have any questions about the league or are interested in playing, please get in touch
