Norwich churches team up for online Day of Prayer

Alive Church and Kingdom Life in Norwich are teaming up to bring church leaders from across the area together in a live broadcast on Sunday evening (March 22) at 7pm to coincide with the National Day of Prayer.

It will also mark the start of a programme of live broadcasts direct from a specially set-up studio at Alive’s Nelson Street base in Norwich.

Phil Thorne from Alive said: “Following the call from national church leaders to join together in prayer we are going to meet together as local church leaders and want to invite Christians from across Norwich to join us in prayer on Facebook Live and YouTube. God has given us a great opportunity to make a difference in our city and region.”

Holly Elverson from Kingdom Life, said: “Psalm 133 tells us that where brothers and sisters dwell together in unity it commands a blessing upon us. So in this season that is exactly what we want to do, to come together in unity as one church.”

David Elverson, from Kingdom Life, said: “We are going to be worshipping God and praying for our church communities, our geographical communities and for our nation. We will be praying for God’s protection. Jesus when he died on the cross won victory over Coronavirus and we will be declaring that and be expecting things to change.”

Jo Thorne: “We are going to light a candle and place it in the window and we want you to place a candle in your window so your neighbours know we are going to be praying for them, for our communities, our schools and our emergency services. So join us on Sunday night.”
